The boys are back in town, and Version 5.3 is finally here!

For this update, we’re shifting our approach. Instead of aiming for massive, one-off additions like the Casino was, we’re focusing on revitalizing long-standing features that haven’t received updates since they were added to the game. New content is exciting, but we want to give our existing features the care and polish they deserve. To kick things off, Version 5.3 delivers a much-needed and highly requested rework of one of NG’s fan-favorite activities: Trucking. Details are below.

CnR:NG Version 5.3 - Changelog

Trucking 2.0:

  • Brand-new Trucking user interface (/truckingjobs, /trj) with interactive trailer hubs across the map for purchasing trucks and trailers.
  • The ability to set your own challenges, choose delivery routes, swap trailers based on cargo demand, and take on urgent cargo for higher rewards.
  • Trucking challenges that boost payouts, rotating cargo types, a dynamic “market” for goods, plus new stats and achievements.


Note: While all civilians can do trucking mission, urgent cargo deliveries, and special cargos are restricted to the Driver skill. 

New Features:

  • New location authorization system based on skill (e.g., auto open/close of certain locations like PD bollards for Peace Officers).
  • Workers of the Week statues inside City Hall.
  • Added a dome around the siege area for improved visibility and immersion.
  • Gang Wars: now includes the ability to draft members before the battle begins.
  • Added the Dashound as an allowed vehicle for the Bus Mission.
  • New vault door system for the Main Bank (and in preparation for Main Bank 2.0).
  • Reworked command suggestion system: suggestions are now filtered based on skill to streamline gameplay.
  • Updated UI for mission and heist completions, with small optimizations applied to all missions.

Gameplay Changes, Balancing & QoL Improvements:

  • Adjusted spawn points for new players to improve starting experiences.
  • NPC cops temporarily disabled.
  • Slightly increased the chance to keep a car after completing the Benny’s Heist.
  • Enhanced countermeasures against vehicle duplication exploits.
  • Removed certain crimes from Manhunt criteria (Warehouse Robbery, Jewelry Store, Prison Break).
  • Increased minimum jail time to 45 seconds and maximum jail time to 3 minutes.
  • Balanced fish sizes and prices; added new fish species. Fishing is great again!
  • Added anti-abuse measures to prevent armor refilling while exiting a vehicle.
  • Fires will now be more frequent. New Urgent fires with added bonus for Arson fires; added a few additional fire spots.

Other Stuff & Bug Fixes:

  • Paramedic mission fixes and performance optimizations.,
  • Addressed several potential causes of server crashes.,
  • Reworked several in-game advertisements.,
  • General chat optimizations.,
  • Fixed auto-opening of the “Start Heist/Robbery” menu to work at any heist location (QoL improvement).,
  • Fixed an issue with the bank menu’s deposit option.,
  • Fixed not being able to use /policeradio while dead or being revived by a Paramedic.,
  • Fixed pet tasks persisting after exiting a vehicle.,
  • Fixed /cdance command to work on closest dead player.
